Wordless Wednesday: Sophie’s Room
January 25, 2012
Yes, she sleeps on a mattress. We’re waiting for a “big girl” bed from my parent’s house.
Just a few words about the “monster doll.” It was made by a friend and all the materials are from Sophie’s favorite clothes that no longer fit. Great keepsake of clothes you don’t want to part with (although Sophie says she wants her jammie and owl dress back).

So cute ( and tidy! ) Love the lavender.
What a beautiful place for creative play and learning!
What an absolutely adorable and cozy room!
You can tell a very colorful and creative little girl lives there!
Cute cute!
Leah, I love that needlepoint next to the Raggedy Ann! Adorable!
I love the colors and all the stimulating and creative props, especially the maps. What a great room for learning and expressing creativity.
lovely!
Love, love, LOVE the maps! Are they paper or fabric? It looks like the perfect room for a little girl.
I want to be a kid again, but not just a kid – your kid. I would’ve loved to have Sophie’s room and her toys!
Her room is so delightful and warm and cozy and filled with love! The perfect room for a little girl. I love her monster doll, and her maps.

Have a wonderful afternoon!
Oh Leah, what an adorable room! Sophie is one lucky little girl — it looks like the perfect spot to hang out, and the mattress on the floor is totally cozy. I’m so happy she likes her monster doll, and I still have the owl fabric….I’ll make her another little something out of it, just for a treat. (I’m still making monster dolls like crazy — I can’t seem to stop!
She has a CUTE room! My kids slept on the floor for a long too. At least you don’t have to worry about them falling out of bed.
You – Yes You! – have been awarded a Versatile Blogger Award!!! http://ahimsamama.com/2012/01/who-me-the-versatile-blogger-award/ Congrats!
Oh, Sophie is such a lucky girl! What a beautiful room! And that Peanuts collection! I love it! They’re my favorite characters, especially Snoopy! I also loved the ladybug pillow, the book shelf and the monster doll! I want a monster doll now! How I loved rag dolls and the concept of using Sophie’s outgrown clothes is wonderful!
What a wonderful little girl’s room! You are going to treasure these pictures even more in a few years, when the room changes as she grows (I know you know this already).
And I love all the maps! Where did you find the one with the World Animals? My kids would love that.
Oh my gosh… I want to live in Sophie’s room. What a wonderful mix of educational, creative and girly wonder. I LOVE it.
Something tells me Sophie’s going to be a great Ambassador on planet Earth and travel to many places on the maps in her room! Great job starting her in the right direction mum!
What a sweet room! The barn picture…have I seen that in a post before?
Aw, I love the Raggedy Ann, Andy stuff, and of course the Monster Doll is absolutely precious!
So much to love in here. The maps are my favorite, which give me an idea…
You have to tell me where you found the “Oh Say Can you see” US map! I love it so much. What a great room!
So adorable, just like its occupant.
I would love to commission a few of those dolls?!?
I want a room like that!
What a fun room. I know she spends many a happy hour playing with all her wonderful toys.
Aw, I really love it. Colorful AND educational!
It’s such a fun, whimsical, cheerful room! I love it! I especially enjoy all the colors, and the shelving on the walls is a great idea. Someday, when I have a house, I will try and remember that for my boys. Moshe also sleeps on a mattress on the floor (and sometimes, just the floor. He’s an ascetic kind of toddler, I suppose). We toy with the idea of getting a toddler bed, but we keep putting it off. The monster doll is a fabulous idea, btw!
wonderful design. i like the colourful room.
Thank you all for your very nice comments! The world map and “Oh Say Can You See” maps (as well as the circus-themed growth chart) are from Oopsy Daisy Art: http://oopsydaisy.com/ . Those pieces are canvas. I bought the World Map of Animals from a children’s bookstore in San Diego: http://www.readersinconline.com/ . Not sure if you can buy them online, but perhaps call them and see if they’ll ship to you. You’ll be helping an indepednent bookstore too!
