“Rock Solid” Valentine Craft and a Sweet Giveaway

February 11, 2013

Giveaway winner is Danielle of Simmworks Family Blog! Congratulations!

Only a few days until Valentine’s Day! Whether it’s Chinese New Year or Valentine’s Day, I always look at holidays as an opportunity to learn, craft or cook with Sophie. This weekend, Sophie and I worked on a very simple Valentine’s Day craft that involved elements of nature and a few craft supplies we had on-hand: rocks from our garden, glue, paint brushes, and glitter — heart rocks!

Sophie’s job was to gather the rocks while I gathered the craft supplies. All you do is paint a heart with glue and sprinkle it with glitter. Voila — you have beautiful glitter rock hearts that make cute decorations or gifts (paper weights).

A SWEET GIVEAWAY

And because it’s the week of love and appreciation, I want to say Happy Valentine’s Day to one lucky reader with a giveaway! I was lucky enough to sample two very tasty treats recently: Gaslamp Popcorn’s Authentic Kettle Corn (originally made here in San Diego) and Barbara’s Hand-made Cookie Pies. Both the popcorn and cookie pie were a hit among the family!

If you want to win a free bag of kettle corn and a cookie pie, all you have to do is like the Gaslamp Popcorn Facebook page and Barbara’s Hand-made Cookie Pie page, and then come back here and leave a comment below. Then you’re automatically entered to win. I’ll draw a winner via random.org on Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14) at 8 pm Pacific Time.

DISCLAIMER: I received a free bag of popcorn and cookie pie to review in exchange for the mention on my blog. However all opinions are my own and I do not endorse or give away products unless they meet my standard of approval (which these two certainly did!).

Oh my! These look fantastic :) What a great way to spruce up the rocks we have hanging out in our garden. And the handmade cookie pies sound like the perfect gift for my husband.

I’ve liked both pages for an entry.

I LOVE the glitter rock idea! I think even my teen girls would like this idea… oh wait, one is actually 20 & left the teens behind. No matter, you get the idea!

And those pages, I liked ‘em both :)
    Thanks again for sharing!
