October Photos: The “B” Sides
October 31, 2011
All the photos that didn’t make their way into October blog posts (and too good not to share).
Backyard Frolicking …
Apple Picking in Julian, Ca. with Theresa Weir, author of“The Orchard” …
Finding Pumpkins and Gourds Around Town …
No power in New Jersey. Halloween in my town was “postponed” to Friday- too many wires and trees down; too dangerous to walk around! Mother Nature!
Really, no power?! How long were you out?
lovely photos! The colors are vibrant and stunning. I especially liked the picture of the apples by the roadside. 🙂
Thank you so much. And thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Ohhh, love the Halloween pics; Sophie’s (and Brian’s — LOL) costumes are adorable. The cat pic is so cool!
Thanks, Julia. I have nice subjects to shoot. That makes it easy!
Great photos! I’d love to be in that apple orchard right now, looks so sunny and fun! Brian makes a great ladybug!
Thanks, Caryn. Bryan looks upset, but he’s actually pretty happy with those antennas that he made Sophie.
‘B’ as in beautiful! Your photos are filled with such fun and joy. Thanks for sharing these B’s they’re the ‘B’est. 😉
Why thank you for the ‘B’est comments!
Gorgeous photos. I think the dandelion is my favorite. So many you could frame, though… I love your view of the world.
Thanks, Shary. I never thought of it as my view of the world until you said that. I like it! And I do plan to frame the dandelion photo with one of my Goodwill frames.
You are one amazing photographer Leah; these are stunning, as usual. Thanks for sharing your gift for all of us to enjoy!
Thank you, Susan. I always appreciate your kind words.
Leah – what fun, beautiful pictures! Such a delicious slice of fall! *sigh* Honey Bunny and I LOVE Julian, CA. They make the best pies…..such a delightful town!
Happy Halloween!
Thanks, Ann. I love Julian and their pies too. We may make another trip up there closer to Thanksgiving and pick up a few for the big feast.
Beautiful pictures! Autumn is really here.
Juliet
Thank you so much, Juliet. I love autumn and it’s beauty — my favorite season!
Gorgeous pics and great photography. Those apples look ready to bite into, the pumpkins make me crave so many things and I just love the handprint art. What a great October collection.
Thank you, Claire. The handprint art is definitely a keeper. Now if only my husband would wash the paint off the sliding glass door…
What gorgeous photos!!!!!!!!!! I don’t have enough of these: !!!! to adequately express the gorgeousness!
Thank you, Theresa. That is so nice of you to say. Truly means a lot coming from you.
Brian does not look happy! Why?!?, He looks great as a lady bug!!
It’s all an act really. He’s quite proud of those ladybug antennas because he made them for Sophie.
Gorgeous photos! What a cute little lady bug!
Thanks, Michelle. Yes, she does make a cut little bug, doesn’t she? 🙂
Beautiful pictures,Leah; I especially loved the one of your hubby with the ladybug headpiece. Keep stored for future blackmail! ; )
Thanks, Jolina! He asked why I didn’t put a funnier picture of him up. But I like that one. It speaks volumes.
Oh, Leah… thank you for the visual feast! The photography is lovely (I loved the animal shots and Sophie in costume). Thanks for sharing; you’re right. They were too good not to post!
Thanks, Melissa. I like the animal shots too. I love that “view from the pumpkin perspective” shot. Reminds me of some of the great photos I’ve seen on your site.
Absolutely lovely pictures Leah, really enjoyed them. My favourite? Of Brian of course, it is so offbeat!
Thanks, Elizabeth. Yes, Bryan does make quite a cute ladybug!
These pictures are spectacular! Why do you call it the B side when they’re all “A’s”? I love the photos of the gourds, the close-up of the pumpkin and the scarecrow sign. Bryan doesn’t look too excited to be photographed, though.
It’s all an act, Monica. He loves it! Thanks for your nice words.
She looks like such a happy little girl!
Thanks. I’m a lucky mom because she really is a happy girl (most of the time).
I love that your posts literally induce a smile.
😀
Wow, thanks Sara. That is so nice of you to say.
Leah, these shots are downright spectacular! I’m so glad you included them in this post! The one of your husband made me laugh! What a good sport he is! The photos are so good, I seriously cannot pick a favorite!
Thanks, Bella. So nice of you to say. Bryan actually loves it! He is proud of those ladybug antennas because he made them for Sophie.
Love ’em. How can a dandelion be so pretty and pesky at the same time?
Thanks, Allison. Isn’t that true about dandelions? They are so pretty though.
What lovely photos — all brought a smile to my face 🙂
Thanks, Kas. They were fun to take.
I’ve always wanted to go apple picking!
Thanks so much. Apple picking is so fun. This is the second year I’ve done it. It’s becoming a tradition.
Love the pictures, as always. Fall apples–yum! Hope your NaNo writing is going well.
Thanks, Susan. I really need to write more actually! I appreciate your encouragement!
All the pictures are winners! Thanks for sharing them. I love the second one down, with the dog in the background of a couple of pumpkins. He looks like he has a plan to “take care of” those pumpkins!
Great photos! I really ove the last one in her Halloween costume. Happy SITS day!

I love the picture of the dog and the one with the cat.

Fall is my favorite season. Thanks for the reminders of how great it is!
Happy SITS Day!
Happy SITS day! Love the picture of the hands on the glass!
You’re right. These are too good not to share.
I love your photos -especially with Theresa Weir/AKA Anne Frasier. I am lucky enough to be in her anthology of Halloween stories – Anne Frasier’s Deadly Treats – Halloween Tales of Magic, Mystery and Mayhem. Everyone loves Halloween it seems.
