May 30, 2011

Today is Memorial Day: the traditional kick-off of summer. So with that, and only four days of school remaining, here’s what our summer looks like.

What will you be doing this summer?

Abby and I are both signed up for our library’s summer reading program. And I’m lucky to work right next to the Farmer’s Market in town. We’re also looking forward to a couple of trips (Florida and Seattle), celebrating Abby’s 6th birthday, and making rice krispies treats.

    Welcome summer!

Your summer looks like so much fun!! (I need to think about what my summer looks like…since yesterday was the first day it really felt like summer here.) I love your visual look at summer!

This summer the kids will go to church camp and mission trip. That means I’ll have a bit more peace and quiet. 🙂 They’ll be tons of swimming and backyard bbq. Maybe a trip to the lake to jump the cliffs. But of course, I’ll also be cleaning out a few closets that I avoid during the school year. And they’ll be lots of curriculum shopping to get ready for fall. HOPEFULLY, there will be more time for writing.

Lots of pool time and barbequing for us. And with the extreme heat in AZ, probably a lot of writing for me, since I can stay inside with the A/C!

    Nice photo montage, Leah. Pretty!

Looks and sounds like a great summer ahead! I think my beach time has come and gone with this last trip sadly, but still have moving jobs and residences coming up. I think I’d rather be berry picking 🙂 Enjoy Memorial Day!

It looks like you have your summer all planned out! What a wonderful array of activities for you and your family! We’re still unsure as to what we’ll do this summer and with grown children, it’s always different. They have their own thing and that leaves the adults pretty much to their own resources. How’s that for irony! 🙂

Fun stuff! Both Husband & Munchkin have birthdays next month, so I see lots of yummy treats in our future, plus a big move, fun times in the sun at splash parks in the city & at the Jersey Shore (minus Pookie — is that her name? — I hope), bubbles, sidewalk chalk, & hopefully a little more exercise for me!

Hmm… My summers are spent hiding indoors from the heat (like Cynthia). And writing. My goal is to write, write, write this summer. but I like the looks of yours … ice cream, scrapbooking, picnics, swimming. Oh – and kettlebell training. I’m going to give it a whirl!

Your summer looks absolutely lovely…..I will be cooking and maintaining my health…..and replacing the A/C which just broke!

That picture makes me want to leap for joy! Who doesn’t love summer? We have a few trips planned as well as lots of time at the river and lake. And of course, don’t forget about some agility trials 🙂

You should totally make a poster out of that image – amazing! Proceeds might subsidize your summer plans !
My 3 kids go off to summer camp for the month of July. My husband and I are celebrating our 20th by taking a bike trip through Napa.. never been to San Francisco, never been to Napa and never been on a bike trip … should be fun (?)! Then, August is cottage time for family. Oh – and since I live in Ottawa – I just might try to sneak a peak at Kate and William, the duches and duke of Cambridge when they visit on Canada Day!!
