The Picture of a Beautiful Thanksgiving

November 25, 2011

We had a great Thanksgiving 2011, starting with the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and ending with Thanksgiving episodes of The West Wing. Here’s a recap of Turkey Day highlighting a few things for which I am thankful.

I am thankful for food to cook …

My beautiful Erin Condrin planner (I’m a nerd, I know) …

My sous chef who helped with the cranberry sauce …

Cooking my first garden pumpkin in the oven …

Which turned into this Pumpkin Praline Dessert

I am thankful for my home and a big kitchen to cook in …

And A LOT of dishes …

I am thankful for a beautiful fall afternoon …

And our annual “turkey trot” neighborhood walk, which this year, included a bike ride …

My little turkey …

I am thankful for my wonderful sisters (including the one giving thanks in Iowa) …

My sister Sari’s (and the Pioneer Woman’s) burgundy mushrooms and bacon-bleu cheese biscuits …

I am thankful for Mr. Turkey …

More food …

And most of all, I am thankful for my family!

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, a bit late, lol. You’re much more on the ball than I am. No pictures in my Thanksgiving Reflections post. Your neighborhood looks so much prettier than it is here; we have down tree branches piled on the curbs from the Oct.. nor’easter storm that did multiple millions of dollars within communities: multiple billions statewide. Your photos were a pleasant respite and a reminder of what it usually is here.

Happy Thanksgiving! That food all looks so good (even though I ate enough to never want to see Thanksgiving food again!) Your sisters look so much like you 🙂

    Four things:
    1. Those burgundy mushrooms are amazing- they were on our table last Thanksgiving.
    2. I’m so envious of your weather- shorts in November!
    3. Aren’t sisters the best?
    4. I die over your sweet daughter’s eyelashes… they are amazing!
    Happy Thanksgiving to you!
