I started a new chapter of my life today. It was my first day as an adjunct instructor at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. I’ll be teaching two sections of Introduction to College Writing to bright-eyed freshmen. I’m not naive enough to think the students will finish the semester with a love of words and writing. But I do hope they’ll feel a bit more comfortable and confident in their writing abilities, and it will seem a little less scary than when they started.
