You’d think growing up in San Diego, Bryan and I’d be regular beach bums. Not really. There always seem to be too much to do; dread of crowds; sand in the car; the heat and sunscreen. That’s just me. (I know, nice attitude!)
We knew Sophie deserved her inaugural trip to the San Diego beach this summer. So recently we made a spur-of-the-moment decision to drive up to Solana Beach, have lunch at Robertos, and enjoy a little fun on the shore.
Sophie was so excited about this adventure, mainly because her favorite book of the summer is Ladybug Girl at the Beach. She had a blast! She kicked off her flip flops, ran onto the sand and right into the ocean. In fact, Bryan had to stop her from going too far. She had no fear what so ever! It was really exciting to watch. Although I think Bryan got a little tired of running into the waves after about 30 times.
Considering how much fun Sophie had, I don’t think we’ll be able to get away with not venturing to the beach as much anymore!
