For about the first month I lived in Indiana, I couldn’t drive anywhere without constantly remarking how amazing it was that everything was so green around me. To which Sophie would reply, “You’ve said that already, mom! It’s green, what’s the big deal?”
Coming from drought-ridden California with dead lawns and no change of seasons, I really hadn’t seen anything like Indiana. I couldn’t get over the bright grass and big overhead trees full of green leaves. Five years later, I’m still in awe and I hope that never disappears. 💚🌿
