This evening I led a writing workshop at Illumination Wellness Co. One of the exercises was to randomly choose one or two words from an envelope containing little slips of paper of various words, and then free write for ten minutes using the words.
When I was laying out the words to take a photo, I picked up a piece that said HANDS. I put it back in the envelope and when I went to select a word to explain the exercise to the group, I randomly pulled out the word … HANDS.
When doing this prompt, I tell writers to use the word they pull (instead of choosing another one). Because I truly believe the universe speaks to us and gives us the words we need to write. I typically do free write when teaching these classes. But after randomly picking the word HANDS twice, I knew the universe was telling me something. My words poured out on the paper … It felt really nice to write from the heart. ✨
