Happy Hanukkah!

Tonight was the first night of Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights. It was a great celebration — we ate latkes, lit the menorah,  played dreidel, and ate gelt (well, Sophie ate the gelt).

Now that Sophie is at the ripe ‘ol age of 3, she really understands Hanukkah and all the symbols and traditions associated with the holiday. Thanks mostly to her preschool and wonderful teachers! Happy Hanukkah!

Sophie is putting candles into her Chanukiah (menorah) she made at school
We’re only on the first night. Sophie got a little ahead of herself with the candles.
Lighting the menorah. Look at the concentration of that kid!
Proud Sophie. I think the days of Bryan and I lighting menorah candles are over.
