October to Remember

My friend, Becky, shared an “October to Remember” post, which is her way of noting the month’s highlights to remember for the future. I loved this idea and asked Becky if I can steal. So here are my October highlights 🎃 …

🍁🍂 It’s been a late fall here in Indiana, with the leaves finally turning colors just this past week. The air conditioner has been officially shut off and transitioned to heat in the mornings. Autumn feels so fleeting to me, so I always try to soak it all in before the trees drop their leaves and go bare.

📚 I finished “The Leavers” by Lisa Ko and am half way through “The Things We Wish Were True” by Marybeth Mayhew Whalen.” My goal is to finish my “to read” pile by the end of this year … there are so many more books I want to read!

👩🏽‍💻It was a very busy month of work that left me feeling a bit overwhelmed at times. I take on a lot, probably more than I need to at times, but I’m grateful to have the work. I’m trying to work on setting clearer boundaries and expectations when it comes to my work so I don’t run myself into the ground.

📺 I let my brain unwind with television at the end of the day. And now that it’s cooler and I have the fireplace working again, my living room is my evening sanctuary. I binged “Maid” and “Clickbait” in a matter of days, and quickly moved on to the first five episodes of “Dopesick.” I’m sure I’ve watched other things, but I have a hard time remembering what they were (other than “Law and Order”). I need to start sharing my TV/movie viewing in my stories so I can save it as a Highlight and refer back.

🏃🏽‍♀️ It wouldn’t be a month if running wasn’t included. As of tomorrow, I’ll have run my monthly goal of at least 65 miles. Since I share enough about running here, I won’t bore you with more … other than to say the scenery, autumnal nature, Halloween decorations and cooler temps make running in October my favorite time of the year.

🗓🦃 Looking ahead to November … Lots of things to look forward to: my birthday, Sophie’s birthday, running events/plans, visiting family, Thanksgiving, and the start of an early Hanukkah.

Hope your October was a memorable one! 🍁🍂🎃
