We as a family try to be very conscious of the things we can control with respect to “greening-up” and sustaining our environment. I bring my own canvas bags grocery shopping. We recycle everything – from junk mail, to water bottles, to soup cans. Everything gets tossed into our recycle box. I kid you not; I probably make at least five trips to the recycle box each day. I also try to turn off lights when we’re not in the room and unplug unused appliances. These are little things. But they make a difference. And once you get into the habit of doing them, the acts of conserving become second nature.
Sophie’s preschool is also doing their part to sustain the earth and practice tikkun olam (Hebrew phrase of repairing the world). The school’s director and the teachers strongly prefer kids bring their lunches in containers and reusable sacks, and encouraged us to avoid plastic Ziploc baggies if possible. So I went over to Etsy to see about finding some reusable sandwich bags. I had no idea the possibilities!
I was very lucky to find homemade reusable sandwich and snack bags from Crafts By Diana. I bought the bags featured below and they arrived in the mail nearly the next day.
I love these bags! They are very sturdy, cute, and best of all, reusable! And all I need to do is toss them in the wash and they’re good as new. And Sophie loves them! She thinks they are just the coolest thing and can’t wait to see what I pack in them.
THANK YOU to my readers for reading me through 100 posts!
