Tales of the Vernal Equinox

There’s an old myth — and an episode of “The West Wing” — that claims you can stand an egg on its end only during the Vernal Equinox, at the exact moment day and night are equal in length. Supposedly, this is because there is equal gravity between the Earth and the sun on that day. It turns out this is a myth and apparently you can stand an egg on end its end any day of the year. I haven’t tested that theory but I always think about it on the Vernal Equinox, the first day of spring.

Happy first day of spring, the start of the season of growth and new beginnings. 🍃
