Growing up, my dad had a phrase he said anytime I felt like I made a mistake, or uttered words like, “I should have done xyz …”
“That’s why they make erasers on pencils,” Dad said.
I thought of my dad when I came across this pencil on a recent run. And I think those lessons of impermanence of a situation, that problems can always be solved, and forgiveness (of myself) have stayed with me all these years because of that phrase, and my dad.
