This is what I know to be true …
I can’t control other people. I can only control myself. I can’t convince someone to change their beliefs or to do something they simply do not want to do. It doesn’t matter how much an individual pleads, posts and argues on Facebook. Those posts do not inspire change; they promote division.
This is what I know to be true …
If we truly want change, we need to find a different way forward. Going backwards does not work and we cannot pretend difficult things don’t exist in life. We need to stop trying to convince each other to change what we think. It doesn’t work, and it hasn’t worked for all the years that have come before us.
This is what I know to be true …
Getting thoughts out of my head and writing things like this helps me find meaning and process my feelings and frustrations in an often broken world. That’s what works for ME. If you don’t agree, I respect that. But respect me too.
This is what I know to be true …
We need to find a solution that looks at the current reality and moves forward with it. I don’t know what that solution looks like. But I’m willing to try and find it.
